A review by Kate Rowe-Ham, Fitness Coach and Founder of ‘Owning Your Menopause’

The Wellbeing Check is a revolutionary tool that examines your overall health in-depth, offering insights far beyond traditional fitness assessments. Leveraging cutting-edge digital technology, it calculates your body’s true wellness age—a reflection of how well your body functions. It evaluates six key areas: mobility, balance, mind, cardiovascular endurance, strength, and body composition, giving you a comprehensive picture of your well-being.

The process is straightforward yet incredibly insightful. It starts with standing on the Technogym assessment machine, which calculates your body composition, including BMI, fat levels, and muscle distribution. Seeing all that data laid out was fascinating. Some of these insights gave me a clear sense of direction and specific areas to work on.

But the machine doesn’t stop there. It also evaluates your mobility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, strength, and mental focus. When all these measurements are combined, you get your wellness age. I admit, I was pretty pleased with my wellness age of 43, especially as I’m heading toward 50. However, I was shocked at my “mind” result. I knew my concentration wasn’t great, but seeing the numbers confirmed that it’s an area I must work on. While the result stung a little, it gave me something concrete to aim for.

Once the assessment is complete, you receive a personalised wellness plan tailored to your body and needs. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach; it’s based entirely on your results, which makes it both targeted and effective. The plan is delivered straight to your phone via the Technogym app, so it’s always at your fingertips. Whether at the gym, working out at home, or even on the go, you can access your plan and stay on track. If your gym uses Technogym equipment, it syncs seamlessly, making it easy to monitor your progress.

One of the standout features is the Technogym Coach. This smart tool adjusts your program as you improve, ensuring you’re always challenging yourself and optimising your results across all six wellness areas. It’s like having a personal trainer in your pocket, constantly fine-tuning your plan to help you get better.

Seeing your strength improve can be motivating if you like to measure your progress rather than your weight, which can often be misleading and, in my opinion, lead to a lack of motivation when you aren’t getting the desired numbers, which is often unrealistic.

As we approach menopause and go through this inevitable natural life stage, we should focus on balance, mobility, cardiovascular health, mind and strength because all of these come under fire when our oestrogen declines. I am not saying weight shouldn’t be considered, but future-proofing your body for mobility and longevity is essential, and there is no better time than now.

I also love that this technology is accessible across multiple gyms equipped with Technogym. It means you can track your progress no matter where you are, which makes consistency so much easier. The Wellbeing Check gave me a clear understanding of my body and mind.

It’s not just about fitness; it’s about taking control of your health and investing in your future. For anyone who wants to feel stronger, healthier, and more prepared for the years ahead, I can’t recommend it enough.
